Misleading Advertisements

Postby noopur » Wed Feb 06, 2013 2:03 pm

It has come to the notice of Distance Education Council (DEC) that certain Universities /Institutions are giving misleading advertisements in the newspapers and through other media for admission in programmes through distance mode indicating that they have approval of the DEC for various programmes.

Students desirous of pursuing educational qualifications through distance mode are hereby advised to check the current status of approval / recognition of programmes of Universities / Institutions available on DEC website www.dec.ac.in. In the absence of the DEC approval, qualifications acquired through distance mode shall not be treated recognized for the purpose of employment under Central Government.

Students are also advised not to take admission at any franchised Study Centre/Contact Point. Study Centre has to be operated by the University / Institution itself within its Territorial Jurisdiction only.
