A concerted effort at the community level is very much required to achieve the goal of mental health for each and every citizen. As much as we emphasize physical health for each one of us, similarly we should also aim at achieving mental health or emotional health for each one of us. A sound health includes both physical as well as emotional or mental. Unfortunately, we tend to focus on the former whereas the latter gets neglected. Mental health is more crucial than physical health and needs to be promoted. A sound mind is very important. The rising incidences of anxiety, stress, intolerance, aggression, frustration and violence are a matter of great concern for the collective health of our society. Amidst such a scenario, creating peace, harmony and well-being is the need of the hour.

The objective of the conference was to create awareness, sensitize and plan out strategies for effectively addressing this critical issue of rising mental health concerns. Towards this end, one workshop was also organized on Drama Therapy as one of the strategies to promote mental and emotional health.

The conference also presented best Paper/ Poster Award to encourage young researches in this area.
